Hard times being a vegetarian...?

a couple of my guy friends pick on me cause i recently became a vegetarian. After being around two of my best friends, who are vegetarian, they have convinced me to become one. That weekend i was online reading stories and watching videos about animal proccessing plants and whatnot. They heard and thought that the only reason i became a vegetarian was because i watched thoses videos. it frustratese me to no end,but what should i say to them without losing them as friends?Hard times being a vegetarian...?
Ask them why it matters so much to them what you eat. It is really none of their business. Don't try to engage them in conversation about how vegetarianism is better, they will become defensive and not understand.

I usually just say something like "hey, we all get choices in life right? My choice is to be a vegetarian, and your choice is to eat meat. It's all good, and we are lucky to be living in a society where we have choices to accomidate both."
Tell them that it is your choice and if they are your friends they need to accept that- if not get more accepting friends.Hard times being a vegetarian...?
get revenge
If their friendship means a lot to you, and if you respect these guys, there is really no need to say much about it. Stick with your choice, but try to remember you ate meat up until recently, and giving it up doesn't suddenly make you a Saint. They are probably waiting to see if you go back to eating meat, and think this is just a fad. You probably do have to prove your determination to them before they will accept it and leave it alone. There is no need for you to sit them down in front of PETA videos, hoping they will understand. Giving up meat takes an evolved mind, you are lucky to have 2 best friends who share your values, and your meat eating friends may think you look down on them for their choices. You may not be able to make them understand, but maybe you can make them leave it alone by treating it as a dietary choice, not a revolutionary one. As for them picking on you, they are just trying to be funny because they don't understand, and they will lose interest if you don't give a damn what they say. But if they wave meat in your face, feel free to knock it on the dirty ground, trust me, that will be the last time they do that.Hard times being a vegetarian...?
Tell them that you did not know until you watched the videos and read online, about what happens to factory-farm animals during their lives and at slaughter (a lot of cruelty), and now you know and don't want to eat meat anymore because of it.
