i want to be healthier,and i want to stop eating meat for awhile.but their is temptation EVEYWHERE,how could i say no!How could i become a vegetarian when my mom cooks food with meat 5 times a week?!?
If you want to be healthier then continue to eat meat in balanced servings. Humans are omnivores.
Why do people have this perception that you can only be healthy by not eating meat?
My mom didn't want me to become a vegetarian, so I printed out a bunch of stuff about the health benifits, animal cruelty, and all that stuff. Then she didn't cook meat all that much. I also found a bunch of recipes and cooked them, and she actually liked some of them.
As for the temptation, watch some videos about how the meat ends up on your plate. You probably won't be eating meat much after that, but there are mock meat that you can get like Morning Star and Boca that are pretty good.How could i become a vegetarian when my mom cooks food with meat 5 times a week?!?
Sit down and have a chat with your Mum about why you want to be vegetarian. Maybe offer to cook a couple of nights of the week and that way you can enjoy some different recipes with your family. Maybe make aup a big batch of vegetarian patties so that when your family is eating meat you can have your patty with the vegetables or salad everyone else is eating.
You need to train yourself to be totally disgusted by meat. This means torturing yourself by reading all the horrible literature about slaughterhouse conditions and watching the footage of the animals being slaughtered. It is one thing to hear about how horrible it is but to actually see it and know all the details is a completely different story. If everyone knew how horrible the conditions animals live in, their would be a lot more vegans and vegetarians.How could i become a vegetarian when my mom cooks food with meat 5 times a week?!?
well if u wanna become a vegitarian and ur mom cooks alot of meat then you shud disipline your self,i know its hard because u see it everywhere,but if u really wanna become one then u have to try hard enough and,u should have ur mom buy vegi foods that u love so that way u have somethin to eat that u really like!well hopefully i helped,and the only thing i can say is to try to disipline your self....and beleive that u cannnn do it :)
There is no need to become a full blown vegetarian. I know its super trendy at school right now ,but teens really need more protein as they are still growing . You can always cut back on some meats but do yourself a favor and don't "fanatical" about it. Allot of vegetarians get very sickly and gaunt.
Have you ever suggested to your mother that she should eat a little less meat? Maybe you should volunteer to cook a couple vegetarian meals for the family. Once they realize how delicious it is, they may want to reduce their meat intake also.
It takes a lot of self control but if i can do it you can to.
Learn to cook vegetarian meals. There are lots of websites with good ideas.
