LOL... you don't mention that they are your friends or not... merely that you're 'surrounded by a number of them who oppose your choices'
IF they are friends... tell them it's your choice and ask that they respect it as YOU are respecting theirs by NOT forcing meat down their throats.
IF they are mere accquaintances / strangers - tell them to STFU or you'll file suit, and then slap them in the face with a nice raw hanger-steak !!
I SO dislike PUSHY vegans... we actually had 3 sneak onto our farm (we're right next to a small highway) to "free" our animals (all raised IN PASTURE or "free-range")... I held them at shotgun for an hour until the deputies arrived after firing two warning shots. They'd also dyed my sheep "so I couldn't profit from the cruel act of sheering them" !!
AMUSING... they went to the county court and had to paid $40K for tampering w/ livestock and did 6 months in county lock-up. BTW our county doesn't provide "vegetarian option meals".
As a Vegetarian, I'm trying to do my best at not 'imposing' my views on my family and friends. I'll admit that it is somewhat hard. Especially because, please try and understand, this is what we believe is right and how we feel! Otherwise, we wouldn't have made this sacrifice. Although, I don't want to make people feel guilty or get annoyed with me for sharing my views with them, so I keep it minimal. Often times people feel they grew up eating that way and they'd prefer to not entertain the idea of stopping. Try explaining that to your "surrounding Vegetarians." Ask them to be understanding but just realize it's only because they are passionate about the topic. So explain to them that you totally understand that and you hope they can as well.How to say shut up to vegetarian people?
Hey! I'm a new vegan and let me just say I only know 2 other vegetarians and I am the only vegan I know in real life. This is depressing.. Sorry, not the point. I don't think their friends tease them for it, as one is for his religion.. However I am teased!!!! GAH! The only reason they know is because I had to tell my camp counselors at camp and they also asked why I wasn't eating meat. Since we don't know many veggos they tend to tease me, and try to tell me meat or diary is in EVERYTHING. It's annoying. You can't really just say shut up. be like this 'What if you guys were surrounded by all meat eaters who tried to make you eat meat, would you be happy? I bet you'd be pissed your views weren't being respected! This is how I feel, so please stop trying to impose your beliefs into me. I don't want to become a vegetarian'
Just try to stay respectful and they'll understand if you explain it right. Trust me, my friends fight me on my beliefs all the time and it's so HARD sometimes to not try and explain your opinions in detail, and my details tend to disturb as the torture in factory farms is not pleasant. They don't really respect it but I get why they do it, haha apparently everyone has fun teasing me. Honestly it does piss me off, so I can get why you'd be angry.
Haha, I know how this feels :) ... Just tell them you'd appreciate it if they would respect you and the choices that you make about what you eat, just like you respect them about their choice to not eat meat.

Meat is not healthy. Even meat eaters eat vegetables. If you do not like your friends get new ones.Saying that meat eaters eat plants sounds like we eat daffodills and moss. Well you could say: "I love veggies but gotta love meat even more.. there's nothing wrong with eating meat like there is nothing wrong with not eating meat. Please don't make me feel bad for liking meat, I don't make you feel bad for eating vegetables do I?" GOOD LUCK!! ;))

you could say "wow, i see the light! i am vegetarian!" don't openly attack their views, that will NOT help.
to be honest the best way to get it done and over with is by not being polite, trust me after you say f@*$ off they wont bother you again.
