Vegans and vegetarian how many times did you "fall of wagon "?

for vegetarians how many times did you "fall of wagon" when you give up meat

and for vegans how many times did you fall when you give up eggs daily and honey

just wonderingVegans and vegetarian how many times did you "fall of wagon "?
Never as vegan, but I was vegetarian for 7 years and the first two years was really hard because I was working in omni restaurants and once in a while I'd succumb to temptation. I made sure to eat something nasty if I was to eat meat, like when I was working for the Salvation Army they had horrible crap like hamsteaks so I'd eat that. It became an act of self harm, and the very last time I did it was the year before I went vegan when I found out my cousin had committed suicide. My cat had been sick so I bought roast chicken as it was all he could keep down, and it was around one week old by that time. I ate a wing, felt awful, and that was that. I wouldn't do it now though, I'm don't tend to act out with self abuse any more and use positive methods to cope with emotional turmoil instead.
Never purposely, but I'm, sure there have been instances where I've consumed an animal by product that wasn't vegetarian, and I've had meat served to me twice at a restaurant. Although milk is vegetarian and it's not technically a "slip up", I had to drink these instant breakfast shakes when I was driving across Canada with my sister over the summer because we had no time to stop and eat. It made me super sick and my throat was coated in mucus the whole time, and I was reminded why I gave it up in the first place. I do have to say though, the longer I go without eating meat and milk the easier it becomes.Vegans and vegetarian how many times did you "fall of wagon "?
I've never "fallen off the wagon" in that I just NEEDED a piece of meat and couldn't hold out anymore. I probably have unknowingly screwed up...I always get cheese on my veggie sandwiches when I order out, and although most cheeses contain animal rennet, I just kind of hope for the best and eat the damn sandwich anyway... ;)
Hey, I've never intentionally fallen off the vegan wagon, although have made a couple of mistakes. One was when I was abroad and didn't speak the language so reading labels was difficult. I don't give myself a hard time over it since I know it was an accident.

I don't ever feel tempted to eat meat/dairy/eggs since it's been so long since I had them. I think that makes it much easier for me not to slip.

Honestly, once. When I first decided to become vegetarian I was not quite prepared. It was something I decided one morning when I got up, after some thought previously(but not very serious thought). I had nothing in the house to eat that was vegetarian(except some pb %26amp; J). My first attempt at vegetarianism lasted about a day.

A week or two later I made the attempt again. This time I researched a bit, and went shopping. I have not looked back since.
If you define 'fall off the wagon' as knowingly putting dead animal into my mouth: never.

I decided to go vegetarian, had a glass of wine, ate the last French dry sausage in the fridge instead of throwing it in the garbage, and never looked back.
My third day of being vegetarian I got drunk and forgot that I was vegetarian and took a bite of a rib pie. I could only last as a vegan for like 3 months. One time I really wanted to know what crab tasted like so I just took a bite to taste it, spat it out though
I never fell of the wagon but I did accidentally eat Starburst without knowing there was gelatin in it.
I didn't.

I made a decision based on an ethical epiphany, and followed it.

That was 5 years ago.
Never on purpose but I've had slip ups. The other day I had a party ring biscuit, then saw the box and saw that it had beef gelatine in. It's in too many things!
Not so far ... but ... it's only been 35 years, so ... early days yet!
