What foods cant a vegetarian eat other than meat?
if you go to a grocery store, youll see a section thats basically all vegetarian and meat subsititutes. such as, tofurkey, meatless hot dog, veggie burgers/boca burgers, these things im not sure wat there called but there delcious, its breaded has broccoli and cheese on the inside really good. try looking on peta.com, they usually give good lists as well...basically anything that doesnt come from an animal..veggies..salad..im new at this too and still researching.DONT GIVE UP. youre doing a great thing. try starting off slowly..if its too hard
You can't eat gelatin since it's made from animal bones. Gummy candy and jello are out.
Since you're still young and your parents probably buy the food for you, I'd advice you to keep drinking milk and eating eggs and dairy until you're old enough to be able to plan your meals. It'll be easier to stick to being vegetarian if your family doesn't have to make huge adjustments right away. You can go vegan later when you can cook for yourself.
I don't see why you should starve- there are many vegetarian dishes that you can make with very basic ingredients that you can probably find in your fridge at any time. You can make very complicated gourmet meals, but there is also a number of easy meals that are really cheap.
You can have a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup or salad, or pasta with tomato sauce, or rice and beans, or a bean and cheese burrito, or an omelet with vegetables. You can also have cereal, oatmeal, PB%26amp; Jam (avoid commercial jelly, since it usually has gelatin). Most households have all the ingredients for those dishes on hand. I'm sure you can come up with many more ideas, but these are just some very basic ideas to help you get started. What foods cant a vegetarian eat other than meat?
If you're only vegetarian then there are no restrictions other than not eating meat. Probably the reason you're starving is because you're not eating enough protein. I've been vegetarian for about 8 months now and I've found that you can't simply cut meat out of your diet you have to find substitutes like nuts or beans.
Depending on how strict you want to be about you aren't supposed to eat anything that is a product of animals. This would include eggs, milk, cheese, butter. You'll need protein, try tofu. What foods cant a vegetarian eat other than meat?
