I pass twice in the morning, as soon as I get up, within five minutes of each other. Then once two to three hours later, after breakfast. Then once or twice more during the day. I eat healthily, work out daily, am a vegetarian, eat lots of fruits, vegetables, plain yogurt and whole grains, and meditate.

It's totally expected for a vegg person like yourself. As long as you don't see mucus, blood or any changes in the color of your regular stools, you're fine.
It's mostly due to the fact that you're veggetarian. Lot's of fiber and water (you must be drinking during your workout), facilitates digestion and the production of gas from bacterias in your colon (gut), so your stool pass through it quickly and are easily.
I am veggetarian myself and have the same situation, which by the way is pretty heatlhy.
This not a medically grounded reply. Nutritional yes, Since you stated that you are vegetarian, that would be considered normal. I find that there is a need to bind these fruits and veggies with either cheese , eggs,and fish in order to function on more regular elimination of perhaps once a day. There may be other choices possible, the one fruit that will help is blueberries, on a daily basis. LOL -- my stepson used to be a vegetarian, and he mentioned the same "issue" once.......we all just reckoned it was because he was full of more (t i h s) than anybody else. He is no longer a vegetarian, and he hasn't mentioned the issue other than that once -- whether that is because it doesn't happen anymore or he it hasn't come up on our discussions, I don't know.
I guess you ARE getting a lot more roughage in your diet, so it might stand to reason.
You are eating fiber and seem to be pretty normal in more ways than one. Yes I know of people who go once a day once every other day but alot of it has to do with what they consume. I'd of thought that was too much. Once a day is plenty. Any more is v-unusual.
Pooping is good. Voids the body of any poisons,
Elimination of the unwanted products from the body is always good. Try more fibre in your diet and drink more water.
you just seem to have a fast, healthy metabolism. i wouldn't worry about. i was told you should have a bowel movement very soon after you eat. so if you are eating healthy- more than three times a day (small portions) it makes sense that you have that many bowel movements.

I'm a runner (love it!) but I'm also a vegetarian. Will lack of protein seriously affect my times?
I've been running for three years on my high school's track and XC teams. I LOVE IT and I just finished my junior year. I'm pretty slow but I don't care because I really compare myself to others that much. The problem is I get tired pretty easily which should happen when I train so much and I know that I work hard. I wonder if I'm not building enough muscle.
I don't eat any meat or fish and don't eat tofu. I don't often eat eggs so I can guess that there's probably no protein in my diet. Would eggs and tofu be the best option? Or protein shakes? Are there any other vegetarians out there?

a great way to get protine into your system is protine powder. it can be put in smoothies, milkshakes, and plain mixed with water. it is good to use before and after a workout to build you muscles. on a seperate note, sporps beans and propel keeps you energized during a run.

Trader Joes has some delicious vegetarian option. Their masala burgers and soy chorizo are absolutely delicious. If you have a trader joes near you, I would definitely check it out. It's good thing too because a lot of their foods are really inexpensive yet tasty and good for you.
Ultimately, I'd really suggest trying to make your own vegetarian foods, and not depend so much on processed veggie burgers, sausage, and "chicken" tenders. Try making your own black bean burgers, or tofu sausage, or veggie burgers. :)What are your favorite vegetarian/vegan brands?

I have already been vegetarian twice before, both times failing in a matter of weeks. I really want to try again but many people don't take me seriously. Everyone jokes about it. I want to become a vegetarian but I don't want to get embarrassed

Ive been doing pretty good and eating absolutely no meat but im having a problem only because now im afraid im eating too much carbs or whatever. Also, the body has to adjust - takes a few weeks.

just make sure you are getting enough fiber and iron in your diet to balance out what you are now not getting. also going to a dietitian can help you to find out what foods would be best for you!
maybe you would feel more secure if you started a detox diet? just to help the transition

What do you think of part time vegetarians?
My cousin is a vegetarian during the week, but eats meat when visiting family on weekends.

I've met people like this, they want the credit for being vegetarian but won't make the sacrifice of actually quitting meat. They probably also find it's a way of alleviating some of the guilt they feel about eating meat and animal welfare issues.
As annoying as people like this are, I do think about what would happen if all the omnis in the world only ate meat on weekends; think how many animals would be saved. So in that respect, it's got to be a positive step. It's just irritating to those of us who have the commitment to be veg all the time.
Any reduction in meat consumption is good. But your cousin is still an omnivore, this apparent "part time vegetarian" term sounds alot like the made up "flexitarian" that keeps being used. If he/she reduces their meat intake that great for their health, the animals and the environment, but don't go about calling your self vegetarian or "part time vegetarian" because there's no such thing.What do you think of part time vegetarians?
I think they are an omnivore who eats vegetarian meals in the week and meat at the weekends.
But on saying that i think it is good your cousin eats more vegetarian meals than meat ones, at least they are doing something to help the environment and their health! :)

Eating farm raised shrimp and predator fish(tuna, swordfish) is bad in my opinion, but eating wild caught shrimp or fish low on the food chain(scrod) is not. Eating more than a pound of meat a day is immoral to me, but living without animal based food at all is pretty dismal.What do you think of part time vegetarians?

It's OK...I started out vegan but now will eat shrimp or fish to be sociable...we have to live in this world...extremism is not good and I feel better eating some fish...your cousin has the ideal diet actually, as long as he/she is not eating steak or pork chops but just eating fish...

I've been a lacto-ovo Vegetarian for a year and a half, and I feel like it's time to make the switch.What are the first steps to going Vegan, or "strict vegetarian"?
I was lacto-ovo until I decided to switch to vegan about 2 months ago.
Here's some advice (aka..what I did? hope it helps):
FIRST--drop the products with the most abundant sources of animal by-products first, such as: milk, yogurt, eggs, cheese, and desserts/candies with eggs and milk. As alternatives, if you find it difficult, there is soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, vegan cheese in most national grocery chains, rice chocolate, fake eggs, etc.
SECOND---While I immediately cut the previous from my diet the first day I said I was switching to vegan, I still had no idea what "secondary" foods weren't vegan...and there are a lot of snacks, chips, desserts, candies, etc that are not. What I did, to slowly get used to it, was just go around reading nutrition labels whenever I bought food, or if I had non-vegan food that I still needed to finish. I bought a lot of things out of the snack machines (academic buildings....starving student) and had assumed they were vegan and then discovered they were not, but I still ate them initially.
Doing this helped me get used to 1. reading labels on EVERYTHING and 2. moderately switching over and getting used to not being able to eat what I did as a vegetarian. It also helped me to remember what foods contain animal by-products, so in the future if I were to wonder if a certain food was vegan, I wouldn't have to ask who is cooking it because I'd already have a good idea from past experience and reading so many labels.
I don't know how you feel about alternatives to milk...it may be a little difficult if you aren't used to different tastes. I haven't had regular milk in years, simply because I didn't like the taste so I went to soy, so that made the switch to vegan a little easier for me.

Why do so many people think that they're a vegetarian if they eat fish?
Can someone please help me? What's the difference between eating something that lives on land or something that lives in the water?
Meat is the flesh of an animal. When you eat fish, aren't you eating their flesh?
It drives me crazy! Even though I'm vegan, I get people telling me all the time, "Oh, you're allowed to eat fish though!"
When are people going to learn that eating flesh isn't vegetarian, no matter which animal it comes from? And how do I deal with these people who are so convinced that I should be eating fish?|||I think people honestly wake up and say "YOU KNOW, BEING A VEGETARIAN WOULD MAKE ME REALLY DIFFERENT, AND COOL!" It's not a trend, or style, it is a lifestlye choice.

Someone had a post today about how 33% of vegetarians on a certain poll said they ate fish. Come on.... it's meat! It's an animal. The fact that it swims makes it another species?
It makes me even crazier that when people find out what a vegan is, they still assume they'll eat cheese, and fish. It's almost like "DIDN'T YOU UNDERSTAND THE DEFINITION FIRST?"
It bugs me completely.

I had a friend who was vegan, and she explained it to people that she just didn't eat or use anything that came from something with a heartbeat.|||Aaaaaaarrrgh! I'm vegan %26amp; am not anemic or lacking in protein, or any vitamins or minerals for that matter. People who say they are veg*n yet "have to eat meat" have poor diets (whether they eat flesh or not), not to mention an obviously lacking mental capacity.
I think people think less of eating fish/seafood because a) they aren't cute, fluffy animals and b) they don't believe they suffer as much at slaughter.
If anything, fish suffer more than other animals when they are killed - not only are their throats cut but they are also deprived of oxygen first. That's torture THEN death.

It drives me crazy! Even though I'm vegan, I get people telling me all the time, "Oh, you're allowed to eat fish though!"

my friends and i r going to play a joke on this girl who is a vegetarian. we r going to put some meat in her lunch without her knowledge.

I don't know you, but I'd imagine that you do not eat dog meat or cat meat. Imagine if somebody thought that it would be a funny joke to feed you dog meat under the guise of chicken or beef. The same reasons that you may have for eating some animals as opposed to others can be thought of as equivalent to why your friend does not eat any animal meat.
Please think twice. Be understanding and compassionate and respectful of the choices that other people make for their own lives.|||Biologically, nothing will happen to her. Humans evolved for millions of years to handle meat. A couple years or 20 years of vegetarianism will not undo that capacity. Some vegetarians will say they get sick if they ingest meat. That is either a) the drama queen coming out in them or b) psycho-somatic based on the thought of eating rotting animal flesh. Trust me, I am vegetarian and on the very rare occasion every few years when meat may pass my lips I do not get sick. I've also corrected "vegetarians" many times after I've seen them eating gelatin or sauces made with meat stock, and while they aren't happy about eating it, they do not become sick.
Now, for what will really happen to her, she will get really irate and probably punch you in the mouth. You will deserve it, though, so not much you can do. No, not really, but hopefully you were horrified at the thought of sneaking something non-Kosher to a person for whom keeping Kosher is important. Now ask yourself why you aren't just as horrified at the thought of sneaking meat to someone for whom eating meat is not important.
The only thing that I can guarantee will happen is that YOU will be a jerk (I would use a much stronger word here) and if this girl ever finds out, you will (rightfully) lose any iota of respect she's ever had for you. If she is your friend, you will also lose a friend.
She might get sick. She will probably notice that there is meat (maybe even by smell). If she skips meat because of an allergy (rare, but they do exist), she might get REALLY sick or even have her throat swell closed. (If your yoga is an aggressive calorie burning yoga, then you will be able to increase these numbers.)
3 figure out how much of a calorie deficit you want in your given time period. 140-128=12 12x3500=42000 If you want to lose 12 pounds, you need a 42000 calorie deficit. If you want to lose that in 30 days, divide that number by 30. 42000/30=1400. To lose 12 pounds-from 140 to 128-you need to lose 1400 calories a day. (Those numbers change significantly depending on your starting weight and the length of time you give yourself to lose the weight)
4 if you are burning 1608 a day and want to lose 1400 of those calories then: 1608-1400=208. You can eat 208 calories a day.

Two real options:
1. extend that 30 day goal to a 103 day goal. 42000/103=407.76 You would need a 408 calorie deficit a day to achieve this. 1608-408=1200 If you extend your diet to 103 days, you can eat 1200 calories a day. You wouldn鈥檛 have to increase your exercise level, and you would attain your goal just before thanksgiving.
2. If you REALLY REALLY want to lose the 12 pounds in 30 days, and will do anything to obtain it, there is a solution. You will still need to eat 1200 calories a day, but you have to burn the difference between 208 and 1200 calories. So you would need to exercise off (1200-208=992) 992 calories a day. 1200 calories a day is kind of a magic number, because if you are filling your diet with lots of fruits and Green vegetables, you can eat constantly. The trick to staying on a diet is NEVER letting yourself get hungry. This can be achieved on a 1200 calorie diet, any lower and you risk allowing yourself to get hungry. This is even harder if you are adding enough exercise to burn an additional 992 calories a day. The extra exercise will increase your appetite. You need to constantly be eating super healthy, low calorie foods. You cannot let yourself get hungry. So, how do you burn 992 calories? The estimate is to do two and a half hours to three hours of cardio a day. This is assuming an aggressive cardio, wherein you are sweating and your heart rate is up: Jogging, swimming, high impact aerobics. You could definitely burn 992 calories in less than two and a half hours, but it depends on so many factors. I鈥檓 assuming your pace is not that of an athlete or someone who trains in the gym every day. I don鈥檛 see any problem with being a vegetarian on a 1200 calorie a day diet. The problem is getting that two to three hours of exercise a day. This is still considered a risky hard core diet. Losing that much weight in such a small time requires a hard core obsessive desire to attain your goal. (mini lecture so that I can feel better after suggesting such a hard core diet to a 16 year old: even if you are eating 1200 a day, if you are exercising that much, you are in dangerous diet territory. At 16, you should choose much more gentle diet options! Why not make your goal to lose 12 pounds b4 thanksgiving?)
If you are interested in one of the above two real options, whether the reasonable one or the hard core scary one, and you don鈥檛 know what you should eat, I can help you with that too. However, I鈥檝e been extremely long winded here. So I will only go off on that information if you ask me to.
I just lost 15 lbs in one month by eating 400-500 calories a day, exercising constantly, and thinking about food non-stop. DON'T DO IT. Trust me, it was terrible - losing weight that fast makes you feel unbelievably weak and dizzy (towards the end, it took a huge amount of effort just to walk a flight of stairs) and you waste all your time thinking about food. 5'7" and 140 lbs sounds fine, you don't need to lose weight! If you want to though, try losing 5 lbs, NOT 15.
(I know you said no lectures, but I'm not counting this as a lecture, I'm just telling you what to expect. And it's horrible.)

well...if you cut out a ton of calories it is definitely possible, but you don't exactly feel great while your doing it.
i did that to lose weight once (i cut out meat, dairy, and most carbs) and my hair got really thin and i was cold all the time...hence iron defeiceny(spelled that wrong? haha).
if you're not too worried about your health, then eat mainly vegetables and fruit but also eat protein like tofu, beans, tempeh, etc. garbanzo beans are really good for you and have iron, and so are avocados. almonds are good for protein too and healthy fats.
good luck! remember veggies veggies veggies. oh and lots of fruit. try to eat most of your carbs in the morning. the problem with most veggies trying to lose weight is that they eat more carbs...eat more protein!

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year, and I am wanting to have a dinner for them. Nothing fancy just homey and welcoming. My problem is my BF's cousin is a vegetarian. I have heard that he does not eat eggs either, soo I am guessing I need to find something w/o cheese and milk too. I need easy suggestions. RED CABBAGE WITH OLIVE OIL MARINADE
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
9 ounces (250 gram) red cabbage
3 Tablespoons vinegar
3 Tablespoon olive oil
1 Tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoon soy sauce
Dash of pepper
Methods:
1. Julienne cabbage. Blanch and drain.
2. Mix vinegar, olive oil, sugar, soy sauce, and pepper well.
3. Toss the cabbage in the vinegar mixture. Let stand until cool.
Notes: Be sure to drain cabbage very well before marinating.
TANGY ITALIAN MUSHROOMS
6 Servings
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh mushrooms (sliced)
陆-cup Fat Free Italian Dressing
1 large onion (chopped)
Butter spray
Methods:
Marinate mushrooms in dressing for at least 1 hour or overnight, stirring occasionally. In non-stick skillet, saut茅 onion in butter spray. Drain mushrooms and add to onions. Continue to cook over medium heat until mushrooms are tender, but not limp.
BAKED ONION RINGS
Serves 4
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 large sweet yellow onion (cut into rings)
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
Salt and Pepper to taste
Methods:
Mix egg whites, salt and pepper. Dip onion rings into egg mixture and than coat with breadcrumbs. Place in single layer on greased baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees.
ONION CUSTARD
Serves 6-8
Ingredients:
4-6 medium mild onion (thinly sliced)
3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
1-cup milk
3 Eggs
Methods:
In skillet, saut茅 onions in butter for 20-30 minutes. Cool. In bowl beat together milk and eggs. Stir in onions and transfer to greased baking dish. Bake 40-50 minutes at 325 degrees or until light golden.
PARSLEY NEW POTATOES
Ingredients:
2 cans (16 ounces each) sliced new potatoes (drained)
录 cup margarine (melted)
6 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Methods:
Place new potatoes in buttered casserole. Mix margarine and parsley and pour over potatoes. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Season to taste.
HOT CABBAGE

3 cups Cabbage (finely chopped)
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
2 Tablespoons Italian Salad Dressing

TOFU ENCHILADA CASSEROLE

Ingredients:
1 dozen corn tortillas
1 package (14 oz.) Hinoichi Firm Tofu
1 package Mozzarella soy cheese
1 can (8 oz.) black olives, drained and chopped
1 can (8 oz.) Jalapenos or green chilies, drained %26amp; chopped
2 bunches green onions, finely chopped
2 cans (16 oz.) Enchilada Sauce
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Saut茅 both sides of the tortillas for 1 minute in olive oil and arrange 陆 of tortillas flat (side by side in a large casserole dish).
3. Proceed to make tofu mixture by combining tofu, soy cheese, olives, green onions, and Jalapenos or green chilies.
4. Pour tofu mixture on top of tortillas; pour 1 can of enchilada sauce evenly on top.
5. Place remaining tortillas on top and pour other can of enchilada sauce to top covering evenly.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes.

LoL! Your BF's cousin is the exact opposite of me! But my mother makes this veggie dish everyone loves!
Basically, you need:
鈥?2 cans of green beans
鈥?A can of cream of mushroom (preferably Campbells)
鈥?Crunchy French onions (French's works best)
Mix the green beans and cream of mushroom in a glass bowl (cuz u need to bake it) and top it off with the French onions. Place a foil over it and place it into the oven heated at 350 degrees. It should take maybe 15-20 minutes (I think, but check it frequently to see if it looks cooked). In order to tell the onions should be kind of brownish and crisp and the top of the sauce should look dark. It's really good and has nothing but veggies. :) Everyone, including your BF's cousin should like it.
For appetizers you could serve cold cuts and pickled lettuce and carrots. If not, try going for something like finger veggie sandwiches. Maybe cucumbers and peanut butter?

1. Fry up onion, garlic and pepper in a small amount of vegetable or olive oil (don't use butter!) until onion is cooked through.
2. Add mushrooms to fry pan and stir for a few minutes.

5. Mix through your pasta and voila, easy tasty vegie/vegan meal.

LoL! Your BF's cousin is the exact opposite of me! But my mother makes this veggie dish everyone loves!
Basically, you need:
鈥?2 cans of green beans
鈥?A can of cream of mushroom (preferably Campbells)
鈥?Crunchy French onions (French's works best)
Mix the green beans and cream of mushroom in a glass bowl (cuz u need to bake it) and top it off with the French onions. Place a foil over it and place it into the oven heated at 350 degrees. It should take maybe 15-20 minutes (I think, but check it frequently to see if it looks cooked). In order to tell the onions should be kind of brownish and crisp and the top of the sauce should look dark. It's really good and has nothing but veggies. :) Everyone, including your BF's cousin should like it.
For appetizers you could serve cold cuts and pickled lettuce and carrots. If not, try going for something like finger veggie sandwiches. Maybe cucumbers and peanut butter?

Advice for going vegetarian?
I have tried several times to go vegetarian, but it never works. My problem is that I have just been cutting out meat, and not replacing it with other forms of protein. I am the only one in my house that is wanting to go veg., and I find it difficult to plan meals for one, without veggies going to waste in my fridge, and without spending too much, and without eating the same thing over and over.

well. what your doing wrong, i think, is planning not planning ahead. i'm vegan and im 13 and i have to make my own meals and both my parents eat meat so yea its pretty hard being the only one in the family. your not gonna get much protein from vegetables and being vegetarian does mean you have to eat veggies but not just that. try having tofu or fake meat. beans are good and tofu with rice or tofu fried in sesame oil with spaghetti is good to. dont worry about it. just go with the flow!

I'm also the only full-time vegetarian in my house. Learn to love your freezer. Frozen veggies won't rot in your freezer. Big pots of soup can have the rest frozen for other meals. Frozen servings of tofu actually get a meatier texture. The freezer is my best friend.
going vegetarian is like quitting smoking.. you have too gradually step down from it... if u just cut out meat cold turkey ur body will have crazy craving for meat, and u will give into temptation before u know it.. try to plan out your meals before you go shopping so u know exactly what you need for the week.. with fresh fruits and veggies i always just get a weeks worth, some ppl get 3 days then go get more and so on.. just try different things don't set limitations on what foods can and cant go together.. do beans, rice, pastas, there is soy products that are really gud... if there is an Adventist church near you ask some one there directions to where they purchase there soy products and they are frozen and big bang for your buck....
just take it one day at a time... if your having a really bad craving and u just have to have that cheese burger or chicken sand. then have it.. its totally normal when we are transitioning our diets... you know the ark wasn't built in a day... don't beat ur self up over it... gud luck to you!

if you find it too hard, its just not the right time for you to `switch over`(haha) .. but if you really want to be vegetarian (and heck, y woulndntya) you`ll succeed.

Staple foods with this plan is a lot of chicken breast. Vegetables in the frozen section have a lot to offer that are very low calorie. Snack items...sugar free jello gelatin, sugar free jello pudding. Fresh fruit. 100 calorie snack packs make it easy to keep track.
I lost 21lbs my first month by doing the above and I did not exercise at all. Your weight loss does slow down after this initial period so incorporating some sort of physical activity is essential if you really want to kick it up a notch.

I'm new to the vegetarian game. I'm still ok with eating dairy and milk. I work out 5 times a week now, but I'm scared I'm burning muscle and not gaining. So I need to have all the protien I can. What has it? Where can I find good sources of protein as a vegetarian?

I made a broccoli, mushroom and rice casserole for my vegetarian friend.
2 cups rice uncooked
2 cans condensed cream of mushroom soup (I use the light version)
1 small package of sliced mushrooms
1 head of broccoli cut up into small bite sized pieces
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
a few pats of butter
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Prepare two cups of rice.
Once rice is done in a large bowl mix the rice with the soup, the mushrooms, and the broccoli. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Spread rice mixture into a 9x13 baking pan, put a few pats of butter over the casserole, and sprinkle the cheese over the top.
Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 25-35 minutes (depends on your oven). Make sure the casserole is bubbly hot and the cheese has taken on a nice golden color.
First, think of what you're making for yourself and all other meat-eating guests.
You really don't want to make an alienated dish, make something close to what you're eating with a nice altered twist!
Vegetarian meals aren't something that you're completely clueless about! No one is! Think of your favorite meal, and consider how you could change it to make it vegetarian friendly.
You really don't want to go out to the grocery store, and buy specific vegetarian items that you will never use again for yourself.
It's definitely going to show alot of effort if you make sure they aren't stuck with something like salad, and rolls!

Personally, I love eggplant parmesan! Maybe if you make that, as well as a pasta dish, with some meatballs (on the side) everyone can enjoy it! Also... some garlic bread and salad. I know I said not to stick them with these, but they'll also have the pasta and the eggplant to rely on!

If it's going to be on the casual side.... Why not veggie pizza?! You can make your own dough or if they eat egg/dairy/wheat you can use Boboli crusts....
Then pile on the veggies and cheese! You can get a little creative.... My favorite Boboli veggie pizza is: red sauce, artichoke bottoms (diced), black olives and green onions! Yum! You can also try eggplant or asparagus! Or get creative with the sauces... Pesto or a white garlic sauce.... Make two pizza's with different sauces/toppings for more variety and you can all share!

8 ounces manicotti noodles, uncooked (u can find them at wal amrt)
1 1/2 cups marinara sauce (vegetarian)
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
15 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
Rinse in cool water.
Take Sauce and HALF of the basil and oregano.
Cook 3 minutes.
Makes 6-8 servings
Spread 1/2 cup of sauce mixture into 13x9 baking dish.
In bowl, stir together 1 CUP of the mozzarella, ricotta, egg, Parmesan, nutmeg and remaining basil and oregano.
Fill pasta tubes with ricotta mixture; place in dish.
Pour remaining sauce over pasta.
Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 350潞 for 25-30 minutes
Twice-baked potatoes, with a side of nice green salad (not just iceburg lettuce) using olive oil and red wine vinegar.
Are they vegetarian or vegan?
If they are vegan, try baking sweet potatoes or yams (twice baked uses sour cream and cheese in my recipe).
Ever try Eggplant Parmesian? Side of broccoli and carrots.
Cut the eggplant into slices, like hamburger patties, roll in milk and egg mix (2 eggs, 1 cup milk), pat on Italian bread crumbs. Cook (by pan fry or bake) When done, put a slice of swiss or motzarella chz on top.
Stir fry is a good all veggie thing. Serve with steamed rice.

1. buy soy chicken bits or firm tofu to add and veggies and oil
2. get out your skillet and put oil on the skillet and add veggies and soy chicken bits but wait to add tofu if you add it
3. stir the stir fry, add sesonings and mor oil if nesscerry,get creative with the seasonings.
4. add tofu and cook untill slightly browned
5.serve with a smile and enjoy you may be surprised at how tasty it is
This is a super easy recipe, and it's really quick.
Ground "Beef" Quesadillas
You'll need:
4 Flour or corn Tortillas, whichever you prefer
A few slices of cheddar cheese
1 Package of Yves Veggie Ground "Beef" or other ground beef substitute.
2 sliced Pepperoncini peppers (Optional)
Heat up a tortilla on a skillet on medium heat. Make sure the pan is hot before you put the tortilla on.
Flip the tortilla once it is light brown, and add the cheese and ground "beef" then fold in half.
Cook until cheese melts and tortilla is light brown.
Repeat until you have four Quesadillas, then open them and put in the Pepperoncini, if desired.
Cut in half and serve.

Spaghetti dinner works good, and it's something you allready know how to cook, I'm sure. To make it vegetarian, just follow these steps.
1. Just boil noodles
2. Find some Prego without meat or cheese (in case they're vegan) read the ingredients. Most "garden style" or "mushroom" or "garlic and onion" etc.. are fine. IF they have meat or chese, they'll usually say so upfront. You can dress it up by sauteeing some finely chopped green pepper, onion, and garlic in a pan w/ a little oil, then adding the sauce to that. You can also add a little stewed tomatoes to make it nice.
3. Get some margerine (soy garden or smart Balance Light) that has no dairy (in case they're vegan) and use it on French Bread with Garlic Powder to make Garlic Bread. Butter the bread heavily, sprinkle with Garlic Powder heavily, bake 10-15 minutes, watching carefully. You can even turn the oven from "Bake" to "broil" the last 5 min, but then you have to watch SUPER carefully. (Literally every 30 seconds almost)
4. Make a nice Garden Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cukes, celery, carrot shreds. Find an Italilan salad Dressing w/o cheese (in case they're vegan) Might have to read a few labels till you find one tha doesn't have a bit of cheese.
5. Steam some Broccoli, Corn, Peas, or green beans
Optional: In a pan SEPARATE from the main sauce, you can make some meatballs that you and your spouse or any other meat-eating guests can add to your own spaghetti if you want. Just keep them separate from the vegetarian's sauce
Boom, you have a tasty, easy (about 40 minutes, very little work.) meal that vegetarians love.
P.S. If you know they're NOT vegan (meaning you know they eat milk and cheese) You don't have to be so picky about the margerine, salad dressing, and you can add crutons for the salad (most have chese). You can serve parmesean chese for the spaghetti, or get a sauce with cheese.

1 teaspoon dried basil

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
15 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon nutmeg
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain.
Rinse in cool water.
Take Sauce and HALF of the basil and oregano.
Cook 3 minutes.
Makes 6-8 servings
Spread 1/2 cup of sauce mixture into 13x9 baking dish.
In bowl, stir together 1 CUP of the mozzarella, ricotta, egg, Parmesan, nutmeg and remaining basil and oregano.
Fill pasta tubes with ricotta mixture; place in dish.
Pour remaining sauce over pasta.
Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake at 350潞 for 25-30 minutes
Twice-baked potatoes, with a side of nice green salad (not just iceburg lettuce) using olive oil and red wine vinegar.

1. buy soy chicken bits or firm tofu to add and veggies and oil
2. get out your skillet and put oil on the skillet and add veggies and soy chicken bits but wait to add tofu if you add it

4. add tofu and cook untill slightly browned

This is a super easy recipe, and it's really quick.
Ground "Beef" Quesadillas
You'll need:
4 Flour or corn Tortillas, whichever you prefer
A few slices of cheddar cheese
1 Package of Yves Veggie Ground "Beef" or other ground beef substitute.
2 sliced Pepperoncini peppers (Optional)
Heat up a tortilla on a skillet on medium heat. Make sure the pan is hot before you put the tortilla on.
Flip the tortilla once it is light brown, and add the cheese and ground "beef" then fold in half.
Cook until cheese melts and tortilla is light brown.
Repeat until you have four Quesadillas, then open them and put in the Pepperoncini, if desired.
Cut in half and serve.

Spaghetti dinner works good, and it's something you allready know how to cook, I'm sure. To make it vegetarian, just follow these steps.
1. Just boil noodles
2. Find some Prego without meat or cheese (in case they're vegan) read the ingredients. Most "garden style" or "mushroom" or "garlic and onion" etc.. are fine. IF they have meat or chese, they'll usually say so upfront. You can dress it up by sauteeing some finely chopped green pepper, onion, and garlic in a pan w/ a little oil, then adding the sauce to that. You can also add a little stewed tomatoes to make it nice.
3. Get some margerine (soy garden or smart Balance Light) that has no dairy (in case they're vegan) and use it on French Bread with Garlic Powder to make Garlic Bread. Butter the bread heavily, sprinkle with Garlic Powder heavily, bake 10-15 minutes, watching carefully. You can even turn the oven from "Bake" to "broil" the last 5 min, but then you have to watch SUPER carefully. (Literally every 30 seconds almost)
4. Make a nice Garden Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cukes, celery, carrot shreds. Find an Italilan salad Dressing w/o cheese (in case they're vegan) Might have to read a few labels till you find one tha doesn't have a bit of cheese.
5. Steam some Broccoli, Corn, Peas, or green beans
Optional: In a pan SEPARATE from the main sauce, you can make some meatballs that you and your spouse or any other meat-eating guests can add to your own spaghetti if you want. Just keep them separate from the vegetarian's sauce
Boom, you have a tasty, easy (about 40 minutes, very little work.) meal that vegetarians love.
P.S. If you know they're NOT vegan (meaning you know they eat milk and cheese) You don't have to be so picky about the margerine, salad dressing, and you can add crutons for the salad (most have chese). You can serve parmesean chese for the spaghetti, or get a sauce with cheese.

YES! Becoming a partial vegetarian is very good for the environment. It has actually been advocated by several environmental groups. When you choose to lower the amount of meat you eat, you lower the demand. When demand drops, the livestock farmers stop forcing animals to reproduce at such a high rate.
The total number of livestock- chickens, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, is 15 BILLION, they out number people 3 to 1. The sheer number of livestock are using up the earths resources every second of their lives. Further, consider that producing 1 pound of steak from a feedlot results in the loss of 35 pounds of topsoil. Topsoil takes 200-1,000 years to form 1 inch. Then think about this, "one acre of prime land can produce many pounds of edible product. Here are a few examples:
30,000 pounds of apples
40,000 pounds of potatoes
50,000 pounds of tomatoes
250 Pounds of beef

When you think about it, all of the plant food we can grow on 1 acre of land could feed more people with a lower impact on the environment than meat. Here's another thing to consider, it takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce 1 edible pound of beef. It takes 49 gallons of water to produce 1 edible pound of apples. Obviously, growing plant food uses fewer resources than raising livestock.
Every little bit of meat you cut out of your diet helps the earth. You don't have to cut out meat completely, but partial vegetarianism is a fabulous way to help reduce your impact on the environment. I'm a partial vegetarian myself. Negative- Its negative because if there wasn't any farmers for cattle and stuff then it could impact the whole predator and pray thing. I.E. in hunting they give you tags depending on if there are more Doe or Bucks. There has to be some kind of balance.
Positive- Well i can think of more negative reasons but here's one. It could be the exact opposite reason of the above. By being vegetarian it could balance out the animal population.

Your killing us, you should eat more meat. If carbons are released by cattle, then shouldn't you eat more, the less you eat the longer these things stay alive to destroy us. Put on your thinking cap young person.
not eating meat wont stop people from not killing animals. they are already dead, not to sound like a barbarian but, might as well eat em.

YES! Becoming a partial vegetarian is very good for the environment. It has actually been advocated by several environmental groups. When you choose to lower the amount of meat you eat, you lower the demand. When demand drops, the livestock farmers stop forcing animals to reproduce at such a high rate.
The total number of livestock- chickens, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, is 15 BILLION, they out number people 3 to 1. The sheer number of livestock are using up the earths resources every second of their lives. Further, consider that producing 1 pound of steak from a feedlot results in the loss of 35 pounds of topsoil. Topsoil takes 200-1,000 years to form 1 inch. Then think about this, "one acre of prime land can produce many pounds of edible product. Here are a few examples:
30,000 pounds of apples
40,000 pounds of potatoes
50,000 pounds of tomatoes
250 Pounds of beef

When you think about it, all of the plant food we can grow on 1 acre of land could feed more people with a lower impact on the environment than meat. Here's another thing to consider, it takes 2,500 gallons of water to produce 1 edible pound of beef. It takes 49 gallons of water to produce 1 edible pound of apples. Obviously, growing plant food uses fewer resources than raising livestock.
Every little bit of meat you cut out of your diet helps the earth. You don't have to cut out meat completely, but partial vegetarianism is a fabulous way to help reduce your impact on the environment. I'm a partial vegetarian myself. Remember, a dollar spent is a dollar voted. If people want less meat produced, buy less. Reduce demand. Hope this helps!

You cannot be partially vegetarian. You either are vegetarian or your not. Reducing your meat intake is the smallest baby step in a decent direction hopefully but it isn't going very far. Meat isn't healthy for you or the environment or most especially the animals you eat. It is much simpler and better to just eliminate all animal products from your life it will be better for all.
You are right about supply and demand. However we have to also work to shut them down and not just wait a while for people to stop.
It is very good for the environment.
1. It takes 100 acres to produce enough beef for 20 people but enough wheat to feed 240 people.
2. We use a large amount of water to feed cattle (which is contributing to the water shortage we have now).
Europeans eat about half the amount of meat Americans eat weekly.

It helps ut only a little. Meat eating is bad for the environment because it increases CO2 emmissions, means that rainforest gets chopped down and that loads of land is taken up to provide only a small amount of food. With one feild of cows you could feed 2 meat eaters for a months but about 8 veggies if it was full of crops.

Best fillers- fiber and protein. You're lacking adequate protein as a vegetarian- do some research on protein sources that contain all the amino acids your body needs. i think eggs and whey protein are included in that category.
