What is the best resource for all different kinds of vegetarian & vegan recipes?

I'm looking not just for websites, but books as well.

Especially resources that take an in depth look at the gastronomy of cultural dishes. i.e. histories of the transitions from traditional recipe to its modern recipe, cultural events associated with dishes, symbolism used in the ingredients of dishes, etc.

Not so much resources that just list ingredients, cooking times and methods.

Any help will be very much appreciated! What is the best resource for all different kinds of vegetarian %26amp; vegan recipes?
All I found for you was the site below. It references a bunch of resources. Whoever put it together did a whole bunch of research compiling the list with stuff like the social and symbolic significance of foods, foods featured in art and literature, all that.

I haven't seen any of the sites or read the books on the page, but judging abstractly it looks like it's what you're searching for.

Is food your new 'thing'? You're finally going to learn to cook something other than pasta and microwave meals?! =)

You can go to most bookstores (probably all) and ask an employee to help you find a book on vegetarian recipes.
