Im going vegetarian, and want to get an idea
as to the cost of it monthly, for one person.
I really don't care to cook long and hard meals
so are there sites for simple meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I have a hard time keeping my weight up
what are some healthy things to help keep it up to a normal amount.
Thanks. What is the monthly cost to eat vegetarian style and?
lavish or usual? $100-$150 per week for vegan. sometimes more when I want something exotic, like peanuts coated in coconut thing. they are around $7 per can, but they are good! except the ones coated with wasabi! ouch!
I mostly feast on nuts and berries. almonds, pine nuts, blueberries, stuff like that. pine nuts are quite pricy, so it adds up. I used to ate cereals and cereal bars cause they are cheaper but they often give you the case of the runs, opposite of the constipation. but I'm mostly a raw vegan. I eat almonds and berries just like that, I like berries straight out of the freezer. I only fry vegan spring rolls and something with pineapples, I like the sweet and sour taste in chinese cooking.
I'm a single vegetarian-I spend about $75-100 a week on food.
I eat unprocessed food for the most part-not a lot of meat substitutes and frozen dinners-mainly beans, whole grains, fresh produce on sale and frozen fruits and veg which are usually more affordable.
For weight maintenance, protein and whole grains should be a substantial part of your diet. Nuts are calorie and nutrient dense, and their high fat content is good fat. Eggs are a source of quality protein-if you're concerned about cholesterol, use only the whites. Cheese is dense in calories, and though high in fat, a very small amount can add a lot of flavor and nutrition. Good luck to you. What is the monthly cost to eat vegetarian style and?
I'm a new college student, so I know how hard it is to afford even regular food on a tight budget. But vegetarian food is actually a lot cheaper than omnivore food. Not too long ago, my family had a steak dinner for a special occasion. They spent $30 on four steaks, whereas I spent $4 on tofu and soy sauce (marinate tofu in watered down soy sauce and spices for a great veggie steak). There are a lot of great cookbooks out there for veggie kids on a tight budget, and all the recipes are super delicious. The biggest problem you may have is keeping your weight up, since a lot of veg options are targeted at new veggies trying to lose weight. My advice would be to eat a lot of foods high in healthy fats, since as nuts, nut butters, avocados, and olive oil. Eat them as snacks, and dip whole grain breads in herbed olive oil as a real gourmet treat. Since you want to be vegetarian and not vegan, I'd also suggest eating a lot of dairy food, as it usually has a high fat content. If you can, try drinking whole milk instead of the usual 2%, and look for dairy products that aren't low fat.
My husband and I spent about 400 USD per month for both of us. So for one, that probably about 200-250 USD since it's generally becomes cheaper per person the more people you have.
We don't buy processed foods like tofu, or meat substitutes. That can be very expensive.
If you eat only vegetables, fruit and whole grains, you can pretty much eat whenever you want to without having to worry about excess calories. If you want extra calories while still being healthy, have nuts or avocados. What is the monthly cost to eat vegetarian style and?
As a vegan, I never spend more than 拢30-40 a week on food. I don't buy ready meals, I cook for myself so I mostly just buy fruit and veg to make fajitas or stirfry or something. Tins keep for ages, so I'm always stocked up on tinned soups, beans..etc.
Beans, lentils, grains, seeds, nuts, soy products are good sources of protein.
(I think there's about $1.60 to 拢1)
My budget is around the same as before, soya milk is more costly but veg is cheap for example so it should balance out evenly, best of luck.
depends on where you live, how often you eat at a restuarant, if you clip coupons, etc.
It will cost you your dignity and possibly some of your friends.
Alot freakin cheaper than having to pay for a piece packaged dead animal. What cost more vegetables or a pack of chicken?
Max 300 $ per month.
very expensive
My husband is a vegetarian and i am a vegan. Together buying groceries each week we spend between 100-150 normally and a little more around holiday time. All together I would say if you know when and where to shop ( avoid whole foods if you can as they are WAY over-priced) ( better option is sunflower market or fresh and easy) the monthly cost with groceries and eating out a few times a week would be between 400 and 600. When you think about this it's a lot less than buying meat not to mention it cuts down medical costs as well as keeps your conscious clear at night. Good luck hun and do make sure you are taking a B-vitamin supplement and Calcium that does not contain gelatin or any other animal product . There are many options for vegetarians Deva is a good brand
As far as weight is concerned you could try lifting weights at the gym as muscle weighs about 5 times more than fat or you could simply increase your daily caloric intake. Each pound is roughly about 500 extra calories a day. A simple formula take the weight you desire to be and multiply it by 10 for example 140 would be 1400 calories daily also check into the BMR formula online under a google search.
As far as food breakfast can be cereal or oatmeal with fruit and soy milk lunch a salad with vegetables or brown rice with vegetables and fried tofu and dinner vegan meats in the forum of a sandwich.
