How did you tell your parents when you went vegetarian?

I've tried vegetarianism many times in the past but I always fail. I think it's because most of my attempts I don't bother to tell my parents this decision (I'm 15 so i still live at home) and the few times I actually did tell them, they wouldn't take me seriously and tried to convince me why it's wrong. I've decided to have another go at vegetarianism, how can I tell my parents? How did you tell your parents when you went vegetarian?
They probably aren't going to take you seriously since you have tried a few times...what you should do, since vegetarianism is much easier than veganism, is tell your parents you would really like to reduce the amount of meat you are eating so you can see how your body feels. Then go full on vegetarian and then you won't have to worry about any pressure. I was moved out when I went vegan and although I was 27 no one really took me seriously. It's been a year, and I think some people still don't but it doesn't matter to me anyway. Just give it your best shot. Once you realize that dead meat is an animal you will succeed. It's the separating of the animal from the plate that allows you to fail. Watch slaughterhouse videos when you feel the urge to eat meat. Really learn what it is and good luck to you. I went vegan overnight so I know you can do this if you really want to.
Same with me. I tried twice, and my parents just straight up would not let me. But about a year ago, I was like "screw it" and just told my parents I was a vegetarian and I'm not going to change my decision. Of course my dad was like "You're just going to change in a week! You're only doing this because it's a fad!" (he said that last time and I let it get to me)

But yeah, just put on your sunglasses and say "Deal with it"How did you tell your parents when you went vegetarian?
I didn't jump threw hoops to tell them I was a vegetarian. I just got up one day after my grandmother made a deer roast and said "This is it, I'm never eating meat." She tricked us into thinking deer roast was a cow roast. To me it's all the same thing now. Then on, everyone in my family knew I was a vegetarian.
well what i did, because i didn't want to make a big deal out of it, whenever they offered me meat i would say "no thanks. I'm trying this whole vegetarian thing." that way if i didn't stick with it they couldn't rub my face in it, because i did say "try" lol. good luck to you.How did you tell your parents when you went vegetarian?
I just stopped eating it. We were at my grandmothers house and no one really noticed it. I later told my mom when we were at home ( my grandmother wouldn't approve, but its my life) and she was OK with it.
"Live simply so that others can simply live."

Stand up for what you believe is right.
i told my dad one day when he was making hamburgers.

he said 'you can just eat hamburgers like the rest of us'

i told him no, i wasnt eating it anymore

he mumbled some stuff or i just didtn pay attention to what he said after that.

i just ate whatever else there was, veggies and bread. now im an adult, if i ever eat there, they make sure to fix me something veg, or else just order takeout.

in your case, if they are trying to convince you its wrong and you caved in before, you will have to

make sure you have a solid counter argument and/or answer to their concerns.

They are responsible for you until you're 18, so you must educate yourself how to be a vegetarian in a healthy way, make a plan, tell them, then ask them to support you with your decision.

Good Luck!
