I'm new to the vegetarian game. I'm still ok with eating dairy and milk. I work out 5 times a week now, but I'm scared I'm burning muscle and not gaining. So I need to have all the protien I can. What has it? Where can I find good sources of protein as a vegetarian?

If you're ok with dairy and milk, then I'm assuming you're ok with eggs? They've got lots!
Also nuts, anything soya (tofu, soya milk, etc.), beans/lentils, and things like milk and cheese are good too!

i've been a vegetarian for 30 years... never once had i been suffering an deficency.
no dairy, there's nothing but fat in dairy.
Milk, cheese, eggs (I'm a veggie and I eat eggs. Some don't. Personal choice. The eggs you buy at Wal*Mart are not, and never will be, fertile, so it's not really killing anything), nuts, and beans. =)
To SAM S: We're VEGETARIANS! Not VEGANS! We do eat by-product of animals such as milk and cheese.
Dear one, your burning fat, not muscle. Eat lean pork, beef,(buffalo meat med rare)is so awsome. Hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, skim milk cheeses. Link on to a vegetarian site.
Try fish. I think that's still vegetarian. Lots of protein and omega 3's... I tried whey and although it worked I had diarrhea for a month.. blech.. Went back to eatin chicken and turkey and it all got better.
