Hello! I am a new %26amp; proud vegetarian!! I am taking a womens multi vitamin and omega-3 everyday. However, I was wondering what additional vitamins should a vegetarian take? Im a 25YO female. Thank you for your time. What additional vitamins should a VEGETARIAN take?
If your eating a balanced diet the multi vitamin isn't necessary, but what the heck they are inexpensive.
Omega-3's are a good idea, but make sure they aren't fish oil one's. Veggie one's come from seaweed or flax
seed.
If your eating eggs or dairy, you will get all the B12 you need form them, but if your not use brewers yeast and, or buy foods fortified with B12.

All you need to do is take a good multi-vitamin (get it a health food store). You can also consider a calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D.
The best thing to do, however, if to eat a varied diet of fruit and vegetables, with a high percentage of raw fruit and vegetables (eat salads!)What additional vitamins should a VEGETARIAN take?
The best source of nutrients is food. If you are eating a well balanced diet, than there is no need to be taking multiple vitamins. Some vegetarians will opt to take a multivitamin(just in case), but there is no need even for that, if you are eating right.
Personally I think vitamins are a waste of money. Your body does not absorb synthetic nutrients as well as real ones, and you end up eliminated them anyway.
You should be eating a wide variety of fruits, veg, nuts, seeds, grains, etc to be sure you are getting all you need.
Iron, calcium, zinc, celenium, magnesium, omega-3. As a veggie, you are most likely to be deficient in iron. Depending on how much dairy you eat, you could also be lacking calcium. I take a multivitamin with iron daily, just incase I don't get everything I need. What additional vitamins should a VEGETARIAN take?
you don't need vitamins
i'm a vegan and my diet is healthy enough where i'm not taking any pills to get nutrients
i get my blood work done every 6 months and they say everythings good
None. I've been vegetarian for 10 years, never taken any additional supplements, and I'm perfectly healthy. All my blood tests show that I have sufficient levels of all necessary nutrients.
Talk to your doctor before taking any multi vitamins. You mightn't even need them. And they could be damaging if you are getting far more than you need. Flax seeds are amazing. They have so much Omegas 3, 6 and 9.
go to your doctor , and he will tell you just what kind you need to take.your doctor know's you inside and out.
