How to be a ' Good Vegetarian '?

I am 13 years old and have debated on becoming a vegetarian for quite some time now. Mainly my reasoning is because of what happens to animals, and also is it true that being a vegetarian can reduce anxiety and stress? Also, once my brother tried to be a vegetarian and he got sick right away, how can I prevent that? How to be a ' Good Vegetarian '?
Transition yourself to vegetarianism so that you have a variety of meals you can eat as a vegetarian. Explore the natural foods, world foods, and vegetarian sections of your local grocery store. There are lots of great places for recipes, including the internet and your local library. :)

That your brother got sick right away was almost definitely just a coincidence, getting sick now and then as a child is normal.

i am 13 and have been a vegetarian since june 11th of this year.

i am sure to eat lots of beans and spinach..it works wonders

(remember popeye?)

Do what I did. Take it slow as slow as your body allows you to. starts with eliminating each category by the week (more or less)

1pork

2red meat

3poultry

4 etc.
eat leafy veggie and fruits, for anti stress eat banana, if you are not a vegetarian yet , you may adjust little by littleHow to be a ' Good Vegetarian '?
i think his sickness was a coincidence.

the only way you can get sick is if you do it the wrong way, like not getting protein and iron from other sources.

you can't ignore the fact that you need some things, so if you become vegetarian please watch what you eat and make sure you learn about nutrition and where to find other sources of protein.

now, anxiety and stress aren't about what you eat.

it's who you are.
im 15 ive been vegetarian for a while...u have to be completely careful with everything u eat u HAVE to make sure ur getting enough protein...omegas...etc EVERYDAY! they make delicious soy burgers (taste *almost* exactly like the real thing) and they help a bit but u still can never get exactly what u need sometimes...u just have to realize that. but you'll be fine if u get as much info from ur doctor about ur decision (they usually dont favor veggetarians)

you shouldn't just abruptly stop meat....u should eat ur normal amount and then gradually cut down (while at the same time adding bocca and morningstar stuff to ur dish)

also make sure ur parents are prepared and have talks about ur nutritional needs.
When I was twelve, I quit eating meat cold turkey, and I've yet to get sick as a result of it. Most people gradually take each meat out of their diet. Just take it easy, and you should be fine :) Make sure that you get enough vitamins in your diet. You may want to consider a vitamin supplement. Good luck!
Being a vegetarian will not help reduce anxiety and stress, experience.

eat high in protein foods; nuts, beans, egg whites, soy, ect.

take your vitamins, B, Iron;;;;; I personally take flintstones ones.

good luck!

make sure your ready to lose weight that was a real shocker on my part I ended up having to eat a lot more to keep my weight in balance.
To be a healthy vegetarian you need to be aware of the traps in a vegetarian diet and you can find them in a web search for "vegetarian diet" + "health hazards".
