How do i tell my parents im becoming a vegetarian?

i was a vegetarian when i was 10 %26amp; stuck with it for like 10 months, but stopped because i wanted to eat meat. now im almost 14 and want to become a vegetarian because i feel so bad for the animals. but i told my mom earlier and she said it was really expensive, and when i told my dad last time he said it was stupid. how do i convince my mom to let me be a vegetarian and how do i tell my dad. my parents are divorced so i can tell them at different times:)How do i tell my parents im becoming a vegetarian?
Well you need to inform your mom that actually it isn't quite that expensive at all. Tell her that animals are tortured and that you don't think its right or good to ingest those things. She's only worried that you won't eat right.

You don't need meat to get all the nutrition you need. Inform yourself so that you can answer anything she asks. If she asks about protein, tell her you can get it from dairy, beans, nuts, pasta, tofu, soy milk(if you don't like cow milk), whole grains. If she asks about iron, tell her you can get it from dark leafy greens like spinach, broccoli, and brussel sprouts. If she asks about B-12, say you can get it from dairy, seaweed, or nutritional yeast. Calcium, dark leafy greens. Fats, olive oil, flaxseeds.

And that's preetty much it. Use this website to help inform yourself of the nutrition you need.

well that's a lie. Your mom's wrong. It's cheaper being vegetarian actually..but anyways after you say that to your mom ask her what else is keeping her against you being vegetarian. My mom was against it and when I asked her why she didn't have anything to say.. I responded by saying

"So you're against me reducing my chances of different diseases and cancers? What about reducing the chances of getting high cholesterol? You're against me making grocery bills cheaper?" %26amp; I explained to her that i'm getting enough vitamins and protein. That really got her quiet, because she couldn't find anything negative about it. Explain the same thing to your dad.How do i tell my parents im becoming a vegetarian?
aww thats really good that you feel bad for animals, same with me. Im trying to become a vegetarian, like i stopped eating any poultry except a tiny bit on thanksgiving and all pig products. I dont eat any fish or anything so the only meat i eat is a tiny bit of steak, hamburgers, and hotdogs. And my parents dont buy me any special stuff i just eat like spegetti or something when the rest of my family eats meat and im fine without it.

So if i were you, i would just tell your parents that they should respect your decision and that it isn't stupid to you and that its your life or whatever, and then if they continue to not let you, just dont eat it. Tell them you'd rather not eat then eat meat, even if its not true or just make yourself something for dinner. Then they'll probably start to get concerned and start buying stuff for you.

Hope this helped :)

You need to offer to buy your own food and cook your own meals. You can't expect your family to buy extra food just for you. If you show that your being a vegetarian isn't going to be a problem for them they probably won't care. They might even come around and be more supportive if you can stick with it.How do i tell my parents im becoming a vegetarian?
well i became Vegan due to health reasons, and to assist me with telling my dad who is a big meat eater i presented him with a detailed summery which i made of information on why its a healthier lifestyle, and why i felt passionatele enough to make the switch.

shouldnt be too costly, do you like beans? eating beans and lentils are cheaper than chicken and steaks...

if you want some info on why it's a healthier lifestyle or any more help you can contact me at chloeb.19393@live.com.au :)
take them both out to a nice steakhouse and break the news.
