What are some good vegetarian restaurants?

Some times hard for me to find good restaurants for vegetarians and i was wondering if you had any ideas because im a vegetarian myselfWhat are some good vegetarian restaurants?
Obviously it depends on where you live. In New York City I would suggest Gobo 1426 Third Ave. (81st St.), Angelica Kitchen 300 E. 12th St. (bet. 1st %26amp; 2nd Ave.) and Blossom 466 Columbus Ave. (bet. 82nd %26amp; 83rd St.)
Generally, thai food, chinese food, japanese/sushi, indian/pakistani restaurants tend to be really good restaurant options for vegetarians because they'll have a fair number of dishes with tofu or veggies. Pizza is boring, but you at least know for sure that you can usually order a vegetarian pizza or just pick whatever toppings you like, but if you're worried about rennet in cheese, you may need to check that with the pizza place. Obviously try to avoid steakhouses/burger joints, seafood places like red lobster (assuming you don't eat fish - red lobster has like nothing vegetarian on their menu) and chicken places (although swiss chalet isn't too bad - they have a veggie burger and a few other veggie options). Italian restaurants can be hard to find something vegetarian at unless you want your only options to be pasta dishes, and avoid german restaurants at all costs (they'll have nothing vegetarian). Vietnamese restaurants can also be hard as most of their dishes tend to have pork or seafood. Mexican is usually a safe choice for veggies, because usually they'll have bean dishes, or vegetarian enchiladas, tacos, fajitas etc that are just veggies and cheese or beans and rice - plus you can eat guacamole and chips!

If you're going out with friends who eat meat, the key is just not to stress out too much - there will always be at least a few options. Don't be afraid to ask questions about what is in the dishes, and you can easily modify something to make it work for you (ie ask to leave the steak off a salad, ask to not have chicken on a pasta dish, etc). Alot of places will also have frozen veggie burgers in their freezers but they may not put it on their menu, so you can ask if they have veggie burgers if you don't see anything else. Good luck! What are some good vegetarian restaurants?
There aren't national chains of veggie restaurants, you just have to do some research in your own city. Your local organic food store should have some suggestions, or look under "Restaurants - Vegetarian" in the phone book. Of course, many national chains are happy to suggest veggie options for you if you just ask. Many of them aren't on the menu but they can prepare them.
Check out www.happycow.net. It lists vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants all over the world. Or Google the name of the city you live in plus "vegetarian".What are some good vegetarian restaurants?
