What's the longest life span in ancient times?

What's the longest life span in ancient times? I've heard from a friend that Pythagoras the educated Greek Philosopher and vegetarian lived up to be 85.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't the only one that lived this long, maybe there were a few people that had long life spans too, but it wasn't common because most people died at 30 or 40.

I was just wondering how some people at that time managed to survive that long, even if everything back then wasn't too sanitized. What's the longest life span in ancient times?
The Ice Man, 4000 year old corpse found in the Italian Alps, was about 42, very old for that age in time. Of course he was murdered so he could have lived even longer.
Methuselah reached the ripe old age of 969 in the Biblical times.

I've listed a source , so you can read more

To reach high age at that time, two things were needed: Appropriate genes and you had to be lucky not to catch one of those infectious diseases they could not cope with then.
I think it depended on your lifestyle, and your genetics as well. Alot of the Ancient Kings of Egypt lived to 30 or 40 but then again some were assassinated like Tut he lived I think till 20. But under normal circumstances evolution would make it around 40 to 50 then no it is 70. Do the math it would seem that it would go 10 years every thousand years with the new scientific remedies. And then when you hear about Moses living 800 years it would mean that he lived through his children in the bloodline, according to old testament or dead sea scrolls. So the Methusela thing is nonsense except for he lived through his bloodline as well. Or maybe they were reborn into another person and lived out their term like a prison sentence till they could reach heaven. What's the longest life span in ancient times?
It was said that Epimenides of Crete( V11, V1 C/B.C.)lived to be either 154, or, 157, or 290 years.

Well. Maybe so.
My mom tells me all the time that my grandpa lived until he was abt 120 years old. Hihihi..
This is a very intellegent question. Before the establishment of the Gregorian calender, people used very many other methods of calculating time. For example, lunar calender. The full moons were considered as a measuring tool. In estern philosophy, 1000 full moons ( which is near equivalent of 80 years now) is considered as a good life span but rare too. Even now, in India, the 60th birthday and the 80 th birthdays are celebrated based on these numbers of the past.
969 according to the LORD, the absolute truth.

I think it'd be hard to get an exact number, but I think 60 would be considered a very very very full life.
I'm pretty sure Santa Claus is like 2000 years old, and still living!!!
Let's get real.

There was an Egyptian pharaoh Pepi II who lived into his nineties.

The mother of Nabonidus of Babylon reached the age of 104.
i think it depends on your point of view - according to some texts 969 is the oldest... however if u also take those texts into consideration many people have not actually "died" some have just been taken to god so they technically never died and area currently around 5000 years old and counting...
According to the Bible, Book of Genesis 5:27 tell us Methuselah lived to be 969. Most people in acient times if the servived

For Greeks and Romans it was about 28. Seems, low to me. Probably that low because of premature infant deaths and war.
methuselah, lived 969 years.
