Is lifting a set of 5-pound weights 100 times good?

I just turned 15 a couple months ago and I am a vegetarian male who is 5"1 and weighs 90 pounds. About two weeks ago I could only lift the weights 60 times.Is lifting a set of 5-pound weights 100 times good?
Lifting light weight with high repetitions like you do will cause your muscles to tone up and stay small. This is what girls like their muscles to be like...toned and not big.



Since you're male, I would imagine you want your muscles to grow bigger.



I would recommend that you do heavier weight with fewer reps. Do 3 sets of 12 reps each with rest of 30 seconds between sets. By the time you are in your 3rd set, you should feel your muscles complain by Rep #8 or 10. That's how you know your weight is heavy enough.



Please make sure you do every weight training in perfect form. Google how to do weight training exercises and watch videos. Make sure you follow the trainer on the video. Bad form will not give you good results. Also concentrate on the muscles you're working on, and do the rep slowly and evenly. Don't jerk. Don't go too fast. Make sure you give your muscles a 48 hours rest in between workout. Don't work the same muscles every day, or your muscles will get small. They need time to repair and grow.
