As a vegetarian do you try and not eat quorn?

I have been a vegetarian for 2 years....but i have heard that alot of chemicals go into making quorn which aren't good for you. i normally take the brand about 3 times a week , but now i may stop.

Do you not take it ?As a vegetarian do you try and not eat quorn?
Quorn is made from micoprotein. Its pretty much as healthy as mushrooms, don't get too hung up about the chemical scaremonger's. after all you might end up turning down the likes of 2 parts hydrogen mised electrically with 1 part oxygen, this is water (h2o) but it is composed from chemicals.

Have a read here about more info. and errm no I dont work for quorn or anyone like that.

Hope this helps you a little, otherwise you won't be left with anything to eat.
i was not aware it was full of chemicals.. but I love quornAs a vegetarian do you try and not eat quorn?
I didn't know about the chemicals. I eat quorn about 3 times a week too. I'm not too fond of vegetables so quorn is all I can eat really. So i'm gonna still eat it
I'm not particularly bothered about the chemicals, if they exist. I'm just a little bored of Quorn, and there are much better brands out there anyway. As a vegetarian do you try and not eat quorn?
I like quorn
I've been vegetarian all my llife (almost 37 years) and I've never tasted Quorn.
I am vegan so i don't take quorn anyways, but when i first became veggie when i was little i didnt take it cos i didnt want anything that tasted like meat at all.

Well, if you stop taking quorn remember you need to supplement your diet with somehting else like soya mine or tofu etc. Also, you get protein fromt he eggs and calcium from the milk in quorn - you will need to take something in their polace too. Got to keep yourself fit and healthy! :)
i m a vegitarian but i eat quorn though it does contain eggs
I'd not heard this about Quorn but being a vegan I don't eat it anyway (it contains eggs and up until fairly recently, the eggs weren't free range - you might want to check that on the packet, if they are it'll say so). Anyway, there are lots of products out there that don't use many chemicals, Tofu being the obvious one as it's simply soya protein - sometimes flavoured with natural things like ginger and garlic. So, my advise is, read the label and work out what you think might be bad in it and then check out those chemicals on the web to find out if any are harmful if consumed regularly - I doubt it very much.

H.
The water you drink is full of chlorine which is a chemical, so bearing everything in mind, don't get thirsty!
I don't know anything about chemicals but I really like Quorn, I like their peppered beef style slices in buttered rolls, their mince in lasagne and shepherds pie, their chicken style pieces in stews and enchiladas and their sausages for my breakfast in Wetherspoons. I actually though it was made from mycoprotein which is a sort of mushroom/fungus thing.
I eat quorn, I don't see anything wrong/bad for you on the ingredient labels.
Not really

Quorn is really nice.

Theres other meat alternative like Linda Mcartney, Tofo...
I've only heard of quorn here on YA, and never seen or heard of is anywhere else; never seen it in the stores either (well, I do not live in the USA as I assume you do).
I am not a vegetarian, but I have respect for those who are. I am a meat lover and look forward to Sunday roasts. And to a lovely roast turkey on Thursday.
I don't mind eating quorn from time to time, but I don't think it's an ideal product. As long as your not dependant then it's fine. :)
i eat quorn EVERYDAY without it i couldn't have been veggie for 2 years :D

Im only 14 so i say that the chemicals are okay :)
