My boyfriend is coming to visit me for the first time, I'm a vegetarian and he's not. What do I cook?

I love pretty much any sort of cuisine. He'll try new things but I just want it to sort of be friendly. I'll eat fish, however.

If you guys have any easy-ish meal suggestions I'd really appreciate it! Thank you in advanceMy boyfriend is coming to visit me for the first time, I'm a vegetarian and he's not. What do I cook?
You have a couple of options. Stick to foods that are fairly neutral on either side and could be Vegetarian without making him feel like he can鈥檛 have meat.

Making your own pizza is a good place to start! That way it is something you are doing together and if he wants something like pepperoni or sausage, you can make your own personal pizzas fairly easily.

Chili is another good one. I am a Pescetarian. I make a well loved Vegetarian Chili that keeps my beef loving friends coming back for more. In fact some don鈥檛 even know that there is no beef in it. This is a hearty meal that most people love and can taste just as good by dropping the beef. Pair it with some cornbread and a little grated cheese and you have a hearty and YUMMY meal and I doubt he will miss the meat.

Another option is to cook vegetarian meals that can easily have meat added to him so he can prepare himself a side of meat to go along with the meal if he wants it, but you still get a hearty and filling meal as well.
Take a pound of red beans, also called kidney beans, and over them with water. Put it int he fridge overnight, about 8 hours. Or you can cook them in a crackpot for 6. Cook the beans with some spices, if you want real Louisiana spices use the Mirepoix (meer-PWAH) or diced onions, celery and carrots. Make rice according to 1:2 (one part rice, two parts water) and cook until tender. Mix with the beans. You can add tomato and chilies to the beans. Serve with cornbread.

I am an omnivore and I eat this often. I consider it comfort food. And if you use vegetarian milk and vinegar instead of milk for the cornbread it can even be vegan. My boyfriend is coming to visit me for the first time, I'm a vegetarian and he's not. What do I cook?
you could totally make pizza, or make it together with him. Put meat on his side, but not on yours.

OR make him a vegetarian plate. Something you are really good at. And show him what a good cook you are. ;)

Even if he isn't a vegetarian, he still, probably, doesn't eat meat in every meal every day.
The beans idea sounds yummy but I don't recommend making beans for your boyfriend for the first time you are cooking for him. Not very romantic.

Just make any kind of pasta dish spaghetti, lasagna, cheese ravioli can all be made without meat and no one will even miss it. If he likes fish, make that.My boyfriend is coming to visit me for the first time, I'm a vegetarian and he's not. What do I cook?
please dont call ur self vegetarian if you eat fish, it really confuses society and makes things harder for us real veggies when we're offered fish in restaurants for example!

why not just cook your bf a veggie/fish dish-he wont die from not eating meat, it's no biggie just for a short visit. just cook what you'd normally eat!
If you eat fish you aren't a vegetarian. You're a pescetarian.
