-whole wheat beagles with almond or peanut butter
-protein bar (Cliff bars are great) and a fruit smoothie(Naked brand is good)
-greek yogurt with granola %26amp; fresh fruit
-any cereal(I eat Kashi and FiberOne) with milk or soy milk
-oatmeal %26amp; a piece of fruit
-whole grain english muffins with honey and sliced apples of bananas on top
-whole grain waffle,(vans brand is good)honey, and peanut butter sandwich
-home-made fruit smoothie with greek yogurt,(or soy yogurt) fruit, and some carrots(there sweet so when blended together they don't taste like a vegetable %26amp; they give you a serving of vegetables in the morning)
I always try to eat whole grains, a serving of fruit, and protein in the morning (whole grain breads have a lot more fiber %26amp; protein than white breads)
Hope I helped you!
If you're ovo-lacto vegetarian, you can still have eggs. Look for cage-free brands. Oatmeal, cream of wheat, other hot cerals are good for you in various ways, as are certain cold cereals. Whole-grain toast with fruit puree or jam, a glass of juice (or fresh fruit), you could even checkout some of the fake bacon or sausage patties available and see if you like them. Whole-grain waffles or pancakes are fine if you don't overdo the butter and syrup on top. There's plenty of breakfast foods that are healthy and taste good. Look up vegetarian breakfast recipes on line and check out the nutritional info. And do talk to your doctor about your specific dietary needs. B-12 is notoriously hard for us to get without using supplements.
Good luck to you! What are some good things to eat for breakfast when your vegetarian?
Okay I really like the meathead who is commenting on everything in the Veg section..NOT. Anyways, I am totally in the same boat. Like, I love being a vegetarian, I feel healthier but its so hard to get the right stuff. Here's some of my breakfast favorites:
soy-nut butter on a toasted whole grain deli-flat (look it up i f you don't know it, they're marvelous!) with sliced bananas and plain whole grain granola sprinkled on. It's the sweetest healthy treat I know!
a toasted whole grain bagel (most bagel shops serve whole grain bagels with sunflowers seeds, flax, and sesame seeds on them which gives you a lot of protein and nutrients) with soy-nut butter or veggie cream cheese if you're not a vegan. Served with a banana, or any fruit of your choice!
any kind of whole grain organic cereal or granola (with or without milk) makes for an easy on the go breakfast.
soyjoy, fiberone, south beach diet and kashi bars are always good for on the go as well.
There are so many options! Thats why breakfast is my favorite meal.
Skinny ***** says eating fruit alone for breakfast is awesome if you get the nutrients like whole grains and seed and beans into your diet later in the day because fruits are great for digestion. I, however, am much happier and fuller if I have whole grain carbohydrates for breakfast with fruit.
Heres some of my breakfast staples:
Oatmeal with either real maple syrup or a dash or a dash of brown sugar, and some almonds%26amp;walnuts
Almond(or peanut butter) toast and fresh fruit
Good cereal with low sugar and high fiber, preferably fortified
Fruit smoothie with a spoonful of hemp protein powder
If you eat eggs, egg sandwich, scrambled eggs or a hard boiled egg would be good as well, if you decide to eat eggsWhat are some good things to eat for breakfast when your vegetarian?
Get a breakfast cereal that you like, and isn't too sugary, and have that with some fresh fruit sliced in, and some milk, soymilk, rice milk, almond milk, or whatever you like on your cereal. Or you could have oatmeal with some banana slices, toasted walnuts, and maple sugar stirred in.
Eggs, pancakes, waffles, vegetarian burritos, egg sandwich, fruits and vegetables for a side dish is really good for you, fruit salad, yogurt, etc... I think that eating
Hope this helped!
BTW: Meat eaters that harass people on here, I feel very sorry for you. You spend your sad, meaningless lives answering questions badly. I hope that you will one day get a life like I have.
fruit and yoghurt, muesli, cereals, wholewheat toast, eggs are good for protein. vegetarian sausages if you have a meat craving! try drinking fruit juices or milk too, for an extra burst of goodness but none of the caffeine content of coffee or tea.
i don't have the time to make proper breakfast foods and i hate eating sugary food like cereal in the mornings. so eating something savory like grilled swiss cheese on french bread is quick and always satiating.
Cereal, toast with peanut butter, bagels, waffles, pancakes, fruit, omelettes, leftovers!
diced up tofu with broken up pieces of veggie sausage thrown in with some shredded soy cheese and mushrooms. cook some seasoned potatoes on the skillet and have a couple slices of whole wheat toast.
