Can you be a vegetarian if you hate beans and lentils?

I'm seriously considering becoming a lacto-vegetarian due to some stomach and digestive health problems I've been having. My only problem is that I absolutely hate beans (canned, not green or waxed) and lentils. I just find the texture is disgusting and I have a really hard time eating them (during and after). Does a vegetarian diet have to consist of these veggies/legumes, or can I eat something else as a substitute? Thanks! Can you be a vegetarian if you hate beans and lentils?
Sure! Especially if you want to be a lacto-vegitarian, protein is not such a big concern - you can get it from dairy! Just make sure you have milk, yoghurt, cheese... Tofu and other soy products are also good, as are nuts.
ther r alternatives. Can you be a vegetarian if you hate beans and lentils?
Sure you can but you would be missing out on many tasty vegetarian dishes.

Try learning to like beans and lentils.
well if you really hate beans and lentils it may be hard to get enough protein.....I guess maybe tofu but you don't want to over do the soy thing either.....Can you be a vegetarian if you hate beans and lentils?
soy, tofu, peas, nuts, tempeh, veggie burgers, soy milk, edaname provides lots of good protein. :) and always make sure you eat your fruits and veggies too!

Plus get a vegetarian vitamin supplement too.
yeah....u just need other sources of protein to keep up with---like soy things.

Absolutely! I'm a vegetarian and I HATE lentils, I really hate them, they taste horrible... but that doesn't mean I have nothing to eat. Legumes in general are just a little protion of all the vegetables you can find out there. If you're a little worried about the protein, eat tofu, it has more protein than most legumes and even meat. Good luck!
try soya and tofu as substitutes and experiment with the veg you can get, there is plenty of choice out there.
I was vegan for many years and hated vegetables, until I learned how to cook properly. Beans? Lentils? Legumes? They are great. Maybe don't eat canned, cook them yourself, they taste great. But, not, you don't have to eat them; that's silly. But, I say you are missing out, vegan, meat eater, or not. Just learn to cook them properly. Some you have to soak a long while beforehand etc. I never ate any until I met my wife; she knows how to cook, and they taste awsome. Usually made into soups.
i think yu can

Yu can eat tofu and lots of fruits and salads

crackers and cheese would be nice
Sure! There are many other things that you can eat, such as nuts and bananas. Fruit and vegies would work too. If you don't want to be a strict vegetarian you can eat also eggs.
