I want to become a vegetarian, but I still live with my parents and they always cook meat with their meals. I've tried a couple times, but I have no clue how to become one! I need help.
My major problem is dinner. How can I eat dinner without eating the meat they cook and its not like I can go out to eat or anything either. I need major help! I know alot of good vegetarien websites, I just need help getting my plan into action! How Can I Become A Vegetarian ?
I have been a vegetarian for about 2 months now. Its really hard when everyone in your family eats meat. I tried talking to my family about my choice but, it really came down to me making my own veggie meals. It can be really hard but I know that its worth it. Take it one day at a time, and just try to make healthy choices for yourself. If you need someone to talk to or any help you can e-mail me. sarahmoonstone@yahoo.com.
there are a lot of meatless choices. have some in the freezer, pop one in the microwave and sit and eat with your family.

First of all you need to talk to your mom about your intention. Together you can work out the details on the foods you will be eating. My daughter is vegetarien and it never conflicted with dinner. In fact her food became the side dish for the rest of us.
As I told her tho, if this is what you want you must keep up with the Dr. visits. You can become ill if you don't keep up eating the proper foods.
There's a new yahoo group that's just been set up to help people like you. We have a group of "experienced" vegetarians who have much advice, some recipes and tons of support to offer. I founded the group and would very much like for you to join us. You can ask as many questions as you like and we will always have a smile and an answer for you.How Can I Become A Vegetarian ?
I think the first thing you need to do is ask yourself why you want to be a vegetarian. Do some research on PETA.com they have a great start packet for you to read over. Secondly, talk to your parents about it. Make sure that they know how you feel, and that you will not be eating meat for the following reasons (whatever that may be).
Once that's done, just start taking meat out of your diet. Example, if your family is having chicken, potatoes, and salad, cut out the chicken, and load your potatoes with everything you like (that's not meat) and get yourself a nice big salad.
I take a multi vitamin, but that's just me, and not everyone takes them, so see what works best for you. When I eat out at restaurants and at other homes that eat meat, I just eat a lot of side dishes, and just cut the meat out. It's really not that hard, you just have to watch what your eating.
Good luck.
stop eating meat.. haha just kidding.. umm.. try not buying foods for people who eat meat.. and eat more at home instead of out.. you will have temptations of those cravings.. but if you arent around meat.. then you wont eat it and you force yourself to eat vegetables.. this is how my dad became a vegetarian.
Just eat around the flesh dishes. Eat the side dishes... then go shopping with your parents and pick out some morningstar farm products in the freezer section and gardenburgers (just heat and eat).. your mom doen't have to worry about prep. As you go along get some veggie cookbooks so that you can prepare meals for yourself. It really is an easy thing. There are SO MANY alternatives. Have fun with it... WELCOME!
Talk to your parents about your decision. Then tell them that youa re willing to help with the cooking, so that all the special strain is not on your Mother. If you are old enough, and have a job, you can also help contribute to the food bill, so that your parents will see that you are serious about your decision.
just stuff all the meat in a napkin and throw it away when ur parents r not looking

Are you still eating eggs and dairy? If you are, all you have to do is replace the meat they're eating with something yummy like a soy burger, tempeh, maybe some cheese, or tofu... nuts have a lot of protein... if they're making something like spaghetti with tomato sauce that has ground animal in it, ask for a bit of the sauce before they add the meat, and put in some veggie ground or chopped tofu. Then you can eat whatever else they're eating, like the salad, or bread, or cooked vegetables.
I'd really recommend learning to cook. Then you can start making your own stuff, still eat it with your family, and maybe even share! Who knows, the delicious stuff you make might convince your family to go vegetarian as well!
Well. To be a Vegetarian, you can't eat a little piece of meat.
If your parent cooks meat and you don't want to eat it.
You can try to talk it out with your parent by saying i want to be a Vegetarian.
Or if you know how to cook then you can cook vegetables yourself.
Or if your parent cooks meat maybe they cook some vegetables w/o meat, then you can just eat the vegetable even if it is with meat. Just don't eat the meat.
There is some vegetarian foods. You can buy it. It taste like meat. But it not meat, it is made out of tofu and vegetables.
You can cook them, Or tell your mom to cook them.
i grantee that it is not meat, it is some Vegetarian foods.
Because i am half Vegetarian.
That is what my mom does. My mom is a Vegetarian, too. But my sister, brother, and me are half Vegetarian..
Maybe that will help you. Just try it. 1 by 1.
