How to convince your parents to let you go vegetarian?

I have wanted to go vegetarian for a long time , the only thing stoping me is my mum she won't let me and I don't kno why !! :(

Check out the Vegetarian %26amp; Vegan Society website - they have a pack especially for new young vegetarians.

They also have a really good wall chart showing where to get all the nutrients you need.

Get as much information you can and maybe even offer to cook one meal a week to show how easy it is.

Good Luck
Go easy and slow first, try going grocery shopping with your parents to choose the food you want to eat. Tell your mom that you would like to include more vegetables and fruits in your diet but lesser meat (do not reject meat suddenly and immediately, you can start with cutting off red meat). Still as a growing child, almost all non-vegetarian parents will hesitate on this decision of their kids going vegetarianism so give them time and also yourself to adjust to it. Make sure you read and find out more about eating right and well in vegetarianism so your parents will not have to worry and will support you once they understand.

In China, we respect our parents. Your "Mum" usually knows best, and that is doubly or triply true this time. You should question why you want to do such an illogical thing. There is no valid reason to adopt such an extremist idea when humans are omnivores, as any competent zoologist knows. Avoid the PETA propaganda someone cites. PETA's co-founders both advocate terrorism, and PETA has paid defense funds for terrorists on trial for crimes in the oxymoronic "animal rights" war. PETA has killed 97% of the animals in its care its own records show. It has refused to help animals when it could and should, as documented by the governor of Colorado a few years ago. It collected $30,000,000 in 2007, and that is its true purpose, not benefiting your health or anyone else's. PETA boss Ingrid Newkirk says so many absurd things that PETA is ridiculed by reasonable people.
first, ask her exactly why you cant do it: is it unhealthy, too hardt= to find meals, etc.?

and i would suggest going to peta2.com they really support vegetarians and vegans, and you could probably find some files on there that talk about how healthy it is to be vegetarian, and they also show you why you are not missing any nutrients as a vegetarian. How to convince your parents to let you go vegetarian?

i just told my parents it was my decision and they cant stop me and i was 16 then
Hi. I'm 13 almost 14 and I went veg at 11. It wasn't easy for me either but I did mannage. Find out why she's not letting you do this. Explain why your doing this and show her YouTube videos of factory farms and explain the health benifits. For protein eat beans, nuts, seeds, tofu, tempeh, legumes, lentils, whole grains and eggs. My mom was concerned about that. But after a little over two years I got my parents who were once very un supportive and refused my choice to be very supprtive and helpfull.
