What ridiculous vegetarian stereotypes have you heard?

Hey guys,

I've been vegetarian for a long time. Just wondered if you have heard any stereotypes.

Like the ''skinny pale wimps who protest, who tie their bodies to trees and have long shaggy hair'' one.

What ridiculous sereotypes have you heard of?

Thanks

The most basic and common one I've heard is that all they eat is vegetables. I am vegan and dont like veggies and meat eaters are always astonished when they say "I could never be vegetarian, I hate veggies!" and hear I dont like them either.

Ive also heard some hippie stereotypes. And environmentalist. The one other vegan girl at my school can be really intense, constantly yelling at people for wearing leather and all, and people sometimes get nervous because they think I'm like that too.

People also think that Im very sensitive and cant even hear about a pet dying or anything, which is pretty ridiculous.

One that is probably unique to me... for a long time I ate very little until I was nearly anorexic and became very thin, often people thought that it was due to my diet and not my choice to eat only a little. They would say they felt so bad because I couldnt eat anything sweet or fattening now. Happily I am over that and eat plenty of good food and sweet stuff, although I do have to make a lot of it myself. People assume you are totally into being healthy sometimes.. my best friend calls me a "vegan tofu noodle". :-)
People tend to think that vegetarians are homosexual. Not true. How ridiculous is that anyways. Of course the usual, how do you get enough protein? Or, I could never do it. No, it's definitely not a fad or trend; either you do it for life or not. It's a lifestyle choice. What ridiculous vegetarian stereotypes have you heard?
not a sterotype really but someone told me that their poop is only green and mushy...[sorry lol]
Some are deserved. Many vegitarians are in it for the trend.

So a lot of trendy kids are vegetarian.

And that's where stereotypes come from.

Notably the one you listed in your question.

But it's false on many levels.

I'm a dirty hippie environmentalist and it makes me equally frustrated when people assume I'm a vegetarian.

But most of that stereotype comes from it's trendyness.

This is kinda crazy but my parents used to tell me to stay away from vegitarians becuase they are going to hell because they worship satin and they are all in a cult. One time i brought a friend home to meet my parents and she was a vegitarian and they told her to leave my house and i want aloud to talk to her again.......This is why im now Vegan and my parents hate me for it....but screw them lol :-)
People like to ask me if I eat things made of white flour.
haha, i've heard someone call them hippies before.

it kind of made me laugh because of how ridiculous it was.
The biggest one for me would probably have to be that "vegetarians don`t get enough protein". I can`t help but laguh every time somebody says that.
Thats so weird! I'm a vegetarian too but I've never heard any steroetypes. But people always come up to me and ask me if I eat animal crackers....I just say "Umm...yea...why wouldn't I?". They said it's because its an animal, but it still doesn't make sense because it's not made of any animal. =)
people asked if I was gay. They say that people who are vegetarians are weird. Why do they always ask what we eat. My gosh. it's bothering
That we're obsessed with salad. Somebody once asked me, "So, do you eat a salad every day?" They were genuinly serious too, I told them no and then they realized how stupid a question that was and we both started laughing.

It's also a stereotype that we have "stringy hair and pasty skin".
