I've been a vegetarian for 4 years; an addition, I left weights 3 times a week and I do cardiovascular 5 times a week. I'm taking all the necessary proteins from vegetable sources(beans, rice, soy, nuts). Today I've noticed that every one of my shirts, you can see my nipples and boobs. It's not very pleasant and it's worrying me. Could this be from using vegetarian protein sources rather than meat protein sources?
Other than that, I feel great. I don't get headaches anymore, my body never aches and I'm very energetic than before.I've been vegetarian for 4 years and I feel great; why am I growing man boobs?
You say you lift weights a lot... are you sure it isn't your pecs pushing fat forward rather than actual man-boobs? I've known several guys who were somewhat sedentary, so they had an average-sized layer of fat on their chests, and then started lifting weights or doing other exercises that caused their chest muscles to get bigger, and the combination of muscle and old fat made them look a little boob-y. That sort of thing is common on everybody, regardless of diet. I would only worry about gynecomastia (official name for having man-boobs) if they are large and squishy, and actually resemble women's breasts. A little bit of a chest outline is normal unless you're super-skinny anyway.
It could be all the ganja, that makes men grow man boobs.
If that's the case, don't worry. It can be corrected with a breast reduction.I've been vegetarian for 4 years and I feel great; why am I growing man boobs?
It is probably from the dairy milk you are drinking.
Cows need to be kept pregnant so they keep producing milk. Estrogen peaks during pregnancy and is passed through the milk. Estrogen levels are so high in milk, that it causes man boobs, and three types of cancer.
DO a search on estrogen levels in milk, don't just take my word on it.
Check any body products for ingredients containing female hormones (even placenta) or lavender. If they have it get rid of them. I cannot find article about boys in France who had similar outbreak when using only lavender scented shampoo, soap, lotion, etc....
No, it is not from being vegetarian. Vegetable protein does not make you any less masculine!I've been vegetarian for 4 years and I feel great; why am I growing man boobs?
You need to find out your body fat percentage. This will tell you whether your muscle v. fat is in balance. From what you say it's hard to tell if your cardio is enough to keep up with the muscle you are building from lifting.
Although your protein source is a possibility for your "manboobs", I would rather support those who said you are building muscle faster than you are burning fat.
So definitely use the MEASURING TAPE METHOD to calculate your %age of body fat. Just ask at your gym. Once you get that figure you can plan a workout schedule.
being vegetarian has nothing to do with your boobs you dork..do you see monks having boobs? It the way you bodylift and it's porbably genetic..I know guys that eats meat still have man boobs..
there is no negative side effect to getting protein from vegetarian sources rather than animal sources.
there's a difference between man boobs (which look totally yucky) and having defined pectorals. maybe your pecs are accentuated after all that working out that you do?? i have a co-worker whose pecs and nipples are very noticeable, but they don't look horrendous.
it's hard to tell just by assuming what they look like... could you maybe take a pic (with your shirt on of course...) and post it??
I saw that you mentioned that you use a lot of soy products. Soy has been shown to increase estrogen production, especially in men, and could be the source of your issues. If you cut back on the soy a bit, it should help. Try using non soy derived protein powder for a while, and not using soy milk as much, substituting it with rice or almond milk.
The two most convenient sources of vegetarian protein are soy and wheat. The two plants with the highest concentration of phyto-estrogen are soy and wheat.
You're going to find a lot of this in highly processed vegetarian foods like imitation meats and vegan-friendly dairy imitations.
This probably isn't gonna be a popular answer, but trust me! Take the next step and eat more freshly prepared foods.
It is too much soy. Reports are soybean contain female hormones, studies also show eating too much soy beans leads to men to become homosexual. Soy in moderation is okay, but like anything too much is a problem.
You are experiencing the side effects of wheat and soya.
The condition you are describing as "manboobs" has a clinical name.
The correct clinical term is "tofu-titz".
Tofu-titz can cause relationship problems if you are heterosexual as you will eventually have a larger cup size than your girlfriend. Unless of course you decide to be a T-gurl. Then tofu-titz can be a blessing.
I'd agree with blackbyrus. It probably means that you're gaining muscle, but if you're not losing fat, it's pushing the fat forward.
It happens all the time to many girls who are obsessive about stomach crunches. If they're not losing fat, their stomachs will look even larger because they're just gaining muscle behind the fat, pushing the fat forward.
What is going on with you.
Dude don't come into the V%26amp;V section and talk about man boobs. This site is loaded with people that play for the "other" team. I bet you caused more wood than a Montania tree planting.
I can see Blackbryus's bone from here.
