Im grocery shopping for the first time as a vegetarian and i need help?

I was thinking about changing over to a vegetarian diet and then i sw the video "meet your meat" and im never eating meat again. I need help on how to shop. I was thinking about buying a bunch of ready made meals along with pastas bean and rice. is this a good way to start out. if you have any suggestions on a list it would be helpful. Thank youIm grocery shopping for the first time as a vegetarian and i need help?
Here's a good list to start you out.

Brown Rice

Whole wheat pasta

Canned diced tomatoes

A variety of frozen veggies (broccoli, green beans, peas, carrots)

Vegetable broth

Fresh veggies (tomatoes, onion, bell peppers, squash, potatoes)

beans

tomato sauce

whole wheat bread

spices, sauces, marinades and condiments if you need them

extra firm tofu

A good idea would be to visit several websites for recipes and jot down recipes that you like and shop from that list. I like fatfree, com and vegcooking.com but all major cooking sites have a lot of vegetarian recipesIm grocery shopping for the first time as a vegetarian and i need help?
Other than not buying meat, you should buy the same things you usually buy (fruits, vegetables, cereal, bread, cheese).

There are many substitutes for meat that you can find in the grocery store and you can use in any recipe that calls for meat. Here are some options:

-tofu (plain)

With this you can fry it in olive oil in a sauce pan and sprinkle with nutritional yeast. You could chop it into cubes and throw it into pasta, a stir fry, or a casserole. You could put it on a sandwich with condiments as a replacement for deli meat.

-tofu (marinated)

There are many different kinds of marinated tofu, if you don't like the taste of plain (some people don't) the you could try some of the options at your grocery store and use this type of tofu in all of the options listed above.

-fake meats

In the frozen food section of grocery stores there are a large number of fake meats. They make veggie burgers (with or without a lot veggies inside), fake sausages, fake chicken wings, fake bacon, fake corn dogs. There are a lot of options!

-seitan

This is another soy product that can be found in grocery stores. It it brown, flavorful, and chewy. It works great in stir fry or in a pot pie as a substitute for chicken.

Other than just substitutes to meat you can get protein from beans and nuts.Im grocery shopping for the first time as a vegetarian and i need help?
I prefer unprocessed food but if you aren't much of a cook I guess just be sure to read the labels and check for animal ingredients-the most surprising things have animal stock or animal fat in them. Remember also that gelatin is made from hooves and bones.

Be sure to buy some fruits and vegetables as well.

This is a typical grocery list for me: whole grain bread, fresh veg, fresh fruit, soy milk, canned and dried beans, pasta and pasta sauce, brown rice, quinoa, cage free eggs, frozen veg, sometimes a bit of cheese.
